The United Republic of Tanzania
is a result of two East African sovereign states of Tanganyika and Zanzibar
that united in 1964 to form one country. Covering an area of Square Kilometres
945,087, Tanzania is a land of multiple tourist attractions. From the
snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro to the endless plains of the Serengeti,
from the sun kissed islands of the Zanzibar Archipelago to the gentle shores of
lakes Victoria, Tanganyika and Nyasa, the country contains immense cultural and
natural wealth.
Tanzania is one of Africa’s most
peaceful countries. Home to a flourishing democracy and prospering economy, the
country is well known for its peace and security. Despite being a diverse mix
of ethnic groups, village peasants and cosmopolitan professionals, Tanzanians
are united by common language, Kiswahili and a strong sense of national
community. Thousands of visitors from around the world favour Tanzania as the
destination for the famous African Safari.
